I am looking forward to a future filled with brilliant colors, places, laughter, and memories, since in the end of this life memories are all we seem to take with us anyway. This time that I am spending in prison allows me to reflect on my past that somehow seems frozen in another time. I've found strengths I never knew I had. I am allowing myself the chance to get to know who I am, where I want to go, and most of all, what it is I really believe in. Seeing the world from the inside out is quite a different perspective, and it really can happen to anyone. The good at heart, the hard working, the mother, that woman that's lost her way in th world, or even forgot how to love herself - prison is a place where everything is primarily planned out for you on a daily basis. The only parts that are not controlled are what a person thinks, what is in their hearts, and what remains inside the soul. Simply if one chooses, it becomes a time for remembering "love is all that matters" and that is how to survive any confined conditions. I often remind myself there are much worse places to be, and people in the world suffering far more than I can ever imagine. What I do know is that we all need someone, no matter where we are.
